My search for another Toller started many years ago. I came across lots of people who were wonderful and had great dogs, but when I found Daintree I knew it was the place. Beautiful dogs, excellent temperaments, a community of owners who truly welcome you in like family, and a breeder dedicated to ongoing support and education for not only her customers but the entire canine community.
Trisha, Scott, and the whole Daintree team are incredible. Before I ever even had the conversation about getting a puppy I was learning new skills and methods of being a better support for my Toller I already had previously. I was educated on diet, health, grooming, training, and better ways to advocate for and support my dogs individual needs. I was blown away at the dedication she has to sharing with and supporting everyone.
Trisha truly cares about educating and preparing new puppy owners and supporting you as part of the Daintree family once you bring your dog home. When I knew the time was right for me to add to our family I was provided so many resources to prepare for my puppy both prior to and after pickup. Classes, trainers, reading material, videos, Facebook groups where you watch how they are handling and developing the puppies, the list goes on and on. I was blown away. My vet was blown away at the support I was receiving.
And then there’s the gotcha weekend. Hands down one of the best days of my life. I know to some the matching process is different, but the best advice I can tell anyone is Trust The Process. It works!!! From the introductory phone calls, to the applications, to the Facebook group in the weeks leading up to gotcha Trisha truly gets to know you and your lifestyle and finds the absolute perfect match. And when you turn around and your best friend is staring back at you with big puppy eyes you’ll know what I mean. And then you spend the rest of the time working with Trisha and her staff and trainers learning about your puppy and the best ways to support their individual needs. You get to meet the families of all your litter mates, there’s photos, training sessions, fun trivia games to reinforce the learning, swag bags full of supplies and more ongoing resources, and by the end it is just the best experience and your puppy feels comfortable and confident after working alongside you and the Daintree crew for both days.
Right away my puppy was comfortable with a long car ride, calm and easy to fly with, got along perfectly with my older dog, and has charmed the hearts of everyone she meets with her sweet disposition and intelligence.
Take it from someone who took planes, multiple days of driving in a a crazy snowstorm across international borders, and a pandemic throwing up roadblocks at every step that I do not regret one moment! As I write this I’m looking at a growing dog who is sweet, confident, well socialized, beautiful, cuddly, healthy, and the most perfect addition to my family I could ever imagine.
