Curry came to live with me in May of 2008. After a scary battle with a raging infection (at the time was diagnosed as Pyometra), we feel very blessed that she pulled through with flying colors. Not only has Curry become a dear, sweet, devoted family member but she has christened our new breeding program with the gift of the Gratitude litter. We feel very lucky to have her and make sure she knows that every day!

Something on her history from the Tollwest website:

"Curry is pick girl from the first litter Tango sired. She comes all the way from Broadway Kennels in Minneapolis, MN - where her dad Tango spent several months. Curry's name is actually short for Currington - she was named after country singer Billy Currington. And yes, she does like to sing! Billy is aware that I named a female puppy after him - I met him in Ohio in 2005, and was able to "fill him in" LOL he found it slightly amusing but did think she was very cute!

We are very excited by Curry's potential. She has lovely balance and angulation, tons of reach and drive, beautiful white markings and a fantastic personality to go with it! She is a sweet, loving girl who is very playful, energetic and outgoing, with lots of enthusiasm for swimming and retrieving. She's a good-sized girl with moderate bone, she is 18 5/8" tall and weighs 33 lbs.

July/05 was her showing debut - she was on "summer vacation" with Simone Sortwell/Tollchester Kennels in Mission, BC. In her first show weekend (at the Sporting Dog Spectacular in BC) she won a Reserve Winners on the Friday, and Best Puppy in Breed at the Sporting Dog Club of BC specialty on the Sunday.

Curry returned home to Tollwest after the US National, where she won the 9-12 month female class in both the specialty and sweepstakes. She took a hiatus from the ring while going through a gangly teenager stage, but recently made a trip back into the ring, where she easily finished her Championship, winning a 4 pt Best of Breed (over 3 specials!) the first day, a 3 pt Best of Winners the second day, and another 3 pt Best Of Winners the third day! She also played one day in the brace competition, partnered with her half-brother Kaos, and they went all they way to win Best Brace in Show over several other very nice braces!

We look forward to showing her in the US down the road. She has had some light training towards a CD & rally, and we are back at the training again. She passed her CGN (Canine Good Neighbor) test with flying colors in August/07.

Curry is OFA Hips Good, OFA Elbows Normal, OFA Patellas Normal, OFA Cardiac Normal. Her eyes are CERF Normal, Optigen PRA Clear and CEA/CH Clear. Her OFA thyroid results are pending.

Her first litter (to BPIG Ch Pikkinokka's Stormtide Barnaby CGC) was born August 14/2006, we have 3 boys & 2 girls, all very flashy with lots of white. We kept a wonderful boy "Billy" from this litter, and he proved his worth in the show ring at a very young age, winning a Best Puppy In Group his third day in the ring, and finishing his Ch the 4th day in the ring, at 7 months old! Billy is now living in Vancouver WA to with his new co-owner, watch for him in the US rings!

Curry's second litter was born March 25/07, bred to BIS Am Ch Fionavar JavaHill Topgun Am/Can CD, Am/Can WC - "Maverick" was the #1 Toller in the USA for 2006. We have some lovely puppies in this litter, and are looking forward to their debut in the show and performance rings!

For Curry's 3rd litter, we bred her to Ch Tollwest's Wild Blue Yonder CGN. We had a lovely litter of 7 puppies, and looking forward to seeing a boy and a girl from this litter in the show rings.

Upon weaning her third litter, Curry went to go live with her new owner Trisha Shanks, who also owns Topaz & Splash. "
